In the south-east of Romania, at the point where the second longest river in Europe (ca. 2900 km) flows into the Black Sea, the Danube Delta started to take shape some 16000 years ago.
The biodiversity of the Danube Delta is considerable - it shelters over 3400 species of vertebrates and invertebrates, many of them rare or endemic.

* Visit to the Peles Castle.

Sinaia, 130 km far from Bucharest has been dubbed "The Pearl of the Carpathians" for its magnificent mountain scenery and Royal Castle.
Peles Castle – former Royal residence, it is today a museum; set in a large park, the Castle was built between 1875 and 1883 for Romania’s imported Hohenzollern monarch , Carol I, and largely decorated by his eccentric wife Elisabeta (better known as a popular novelist Carmen Sylva), who wants decreed that court life at Sinaia be conducted in folk costume.
